Cmdr. Jose Reyes
Commander Jose Reyes is a native of Woodbridge, Virginia and commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer in 2006 at the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics.
He recently completed his tour as Littoral (ESB/LCS/MCM) Type Desk Manager at Commander Naval Surface Force Atlantic.
His at-sea assignments include electronic warfare officer, damage control assistant, auxiliaries officer, and fire control officer aboard USS Arleigh Burke (DDG 51) deploying in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Anti-Piracy Operations with the USS Enterprise (CVN 65) Carrier Strike Group, Sixth Fleet Theater Security Operations, and the Africa Partnership Program. He also served aboard USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) as the Chief Engineer conducting numerous maritime patrols as part of the Forward Deployed Naval Forces- Europe. He served as the executive officer aboard USS Cape St. George (CG 71) undergoing the Cruiser Modernization Program in Seattle.
Ashore, his assignments include operations officer at U.S. Military Training Mission, Naval Forces Division, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, materials officer at Commander, Destroyer Squadron 60, and engineering assessor and project officer at Engineering Assessments Atlantic.
Reyes is a 2012 graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, holding a Master of Science in Systems Technology and Space Systems Certificate.
His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy Achievement Medal (two awards), and various campaign awards.
