Explosive Ordnance Disposal GROUP ONE
Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group One (EODGRU-1) is a critical part of NECC that clears explosive hazards to provide access to denied areas, employs advanced tactics and technologies to exploit and secure the undersea domain for freedom of maneuver, builds and fosters relationships with trusted partners, and protects the nation. Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group One in San Diego, California is an Echelon IV commands and man, train and equip their subordinate mobile units, mobile diving and salvage, training and evaluation units and expeditionary support units to perform combat operations worldwide. Additionally, EODGRU-1 can deploy as a battalion level staff to command and control task forces as needed.
EODGRU-1 oversees EOD Mobile Units (EODMU) 1, 3, and 11 in San Diego; EODMU 5 in Guam; Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit 1 in Hawaii; and EOD Expeditionary Support Unit 1 and EOD Training and Evaluation Unit One in San Diego.
