Cmdr. Jeffery Milota



Cmdr. Jeffery A. Milota was born and raised in Eureka, California.  He entered the Navy under the Delayed Entry Program in June of 1999 in the Advanced Electronic Computer Field.  He attended Recruit Training at Great Lakes, followed by Firecontrolman “A” school.  He reported to USS HOPPER (DDG 70) later that year, and soon after, he was selected to attend the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, RI.  He graduated with merit from USNA in 2006, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology with a specialty in IT Management.
 
He reported to USS THE SULLIVANS (DDG 68) in September 2006 as Combat Information Center Officer and later served as Assistant Operations Officer.  He completed the Naval Nuclear Power Training pipeline in Charleston, SC following his initial Division Officer tour.  He then reported to USS GEORGE H.W. BUSH (CVN 77) as the Reactor Mechanical Division Officer and then the Deputy Reactor Training Assistant.  In March 2011, CDR Milota qualified as a Naval Nuclear Engineering Officer and transferred to the COMNAVAIRLANT Surface Nuclear Propulsion Mobile Training Team as the Executive Officer.  He served as Operations Officer in USS JAMES E. WILLIAMS (DDG 95), as Main Propulsion Assistant in USS GERALD R. FORD (CVN 78), as Assistant Chief of Staff for Material and Logistics (N4) in Carrier Strike Group TWO, and as Auxiliaries Officer in PCU JOHN F. KENNEDY (CVN 79).  His latest tour was as a Surface Warfare tactics instructor at Tactical Training Group, Atlantic.  CDR Milota is presently serving as Executive Officer of Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron TWO (MSRON-2).
 
His decoration includes the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and multiple unit and campaign awards.
