  CMDCM MICHAEL A. DIAL
  Navy Expeditionary Warfare Development Center
  
  Master Chief Michael Dial is a native of Elk Grove, California. He enlisted in the United States Navy in December of 1994 under the Delayed Entry Program while still attending Sacramento Lutheran High School.
  
  He reported to basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois in September 1995 and began his career as an Aviation Structural Mechanic. He became an Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician in 2005 and was selected for the Command Master Chief program in 2020.
  
  He has served in a myriad of sea duty assignments which include Strike Fighter Squadron 113, USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), EOD Mobile Unit TWO, EOD Mobile Unit TWELVE, Commander Task Group 56.1, Commander Task Group 56.1 Forward-Syria, EOD Group TWO, and most recently as Command Master Chief of EOD Mobile Unit TWO.
  
  His previous shore tours include Strike Fighter Squadron 106, EOD Training and Evaluation Unit TWO, and Navy Expeditionary Combat Command.
  
  He completed one shipboard deployment to the Western Pacific and Central Command, one shipboard deployment in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, three deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, one deployment to the Horn of Africa, one deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, one deployment in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, and two deployments to FIFTH Fleet as the Command Master Chief for CTG 56.1 and 52.3.
  
  Master Chief Dial is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 195) and has attended the Executive Leadership Symposium at USFF. He earned his Enlisted EOD, Surface, and Aviation Warfare Specialist designations. He is also a Master Training Specialist and a Naval Free-fall Parachutist.
  
  His decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with “V’, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Army Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), Army Achievement Medal (2 awards), Valorous Unit Citation, Combat Action Ribbon, and numerous campaign awards.

Our Mission

ExWDC conducts Navy Expeditionary Combat Force (NECF) advanced tactics training at the individual, unit, advanced, and combined levels ensuring alignment of the training continuum; doctrine, tactics, and concepts of operations development in NECF and Force Protection community warfare areas: Expeditionary Warfare (EXW), Construction (CON), Confronting Irregular Challenges (CIC), and Force Protection (FP); operational and Subject Matter Expertise (SME) support; warfighting effectiveness assessments; and force development planning and programming for emerging and emergent NECF capabilities.
