Command Master Chief John Holzhauer
Master Chief Holzhauer is a native of Clinton, Oklahoma and enlisted in the United States Navy in June 1995. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois he reported to Naval Technical Training Center, Pensacola, Florida where he completed Opticalman (OM) Class “A” School. In 1998 the OM rate was disestablished and Master Chief was converted to Electronics Technician graduating ET Class ”A” School in 2001.
Master Chief Holzhauer is currently assigned as the Command Master Chief, Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron TWO, Virginia Beach, Va. His sea duty assignments includes tours onboard USS SIMON LAKE (AS-33) La Maddelana, Italy; USS JOHN F KENNEDY (CV-67) Mayport, Florida; Riverine Squadron TWO (RIVRON 2) Virginia Beach, Virginia; Coastal Riverine Squadron FOUR (CRS-4) Virginia Beach, Virginia; and USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76) Yokosuka, Japan. His shore duty assignments are Naval Submarine Support Facility (NSSF) New London, Connecticut; Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station (NCTS) Manama, Bahrain, Center for Security Forces (CSF), Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and Center for Surface Combat Systems (CSCS) Dahlgren, Virginia.
Master Chief has an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Electronic Technology from Thomas Edison State University, is a graduate of the US Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Red 219), and CMC/COB course.
His insignias include Expeditionary Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist. He is a qualified Master Training Specialist and Small Craft Petty Officer-in-Charge. His decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
Master Chief Holzhauer is married to Mary Holzhauer of Batesburg, SC and has two children; Joseph (20) and Justin (19).
