Senior Enlisted Leader, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC)

Senior Chief Michael Steffey was born and raised in Houston, Texas and holds an Associate Degree in Electronics. He enlisted in the Navy in May of 2001, attended Basic Training at Recruit Training Command and Electronics Technician "A" school in Naval Station Great Lakes, Illinois. He next continued to Fort Gordon, Georgia to attend Satellite Communications “C” school.
His first duty station was Joint Communications Support Element, Tampa, Florida. He then cross-rated to Construction Mechanic. His following duty stations were Explosive Ordinance Disposal Mobile Unit 3, Naval Special Warfare Logistics Support Unit
, Naval Special Warfare Unit Three in Bahrain, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion One, Naval Personnel Command, Naval Special Warfare Development Group and he now serves as the Senior Enlisted Leader at Navy Expeditionary Combat Command.
Additionally, he completed Senior Enlisted Academy, 3-M system coordinator school, and holds the 854A Naval Special Warfare Combat Service Support (CSS) NEC. He qualified Seabee Combat Warfare and Expeditionary Warfare specialist. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (third award), Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (sixth award), and various unit, campaign, and service awards.
