 Command Master Chief Brooks Gregory
 

Master Chief Gregory was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia and enlisted in the Navy March of 2003.  After completing Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois he reported to Naval Tactical Training Canter Lackland for Master-at-Arms “A” school and reported to Naval Support Activity Souda Bay, Greece.
 
In October 2004, he Commissioned Mobile Security Squadron Six, in Portsmouth, Virginia and completed three deployments with Detachment 25 and was promoted to Petty Officer Second Class and in 2007 and earned the Expeditionary Warfare Specialist qualification.      
 
In June 2009, MA2 Gregory transferred to NAS Corpus Christi, Texas and attended Anti-Terrorism Training Supervisor (NEC 9501) and Non-Lethal Weapons Instructor course and served as the department Training LPO.   
 
Arriving at NSA Bahrain in July 2013, he was promoted to Petty Officer First Class where he stood the duties as Harbor Patrol Unit Leading Petty Officer and acting section Chief.
 
MA1 Gregory arrived onboard pre-commissioning unit Gerald R. Ford in June 2014.  He was selected to Chief Petty Officer in August 2016 and served as department departmental maintenance assistant, Training Lead Chief Petty Officer, Operations LCPO and urinalysis program coordinator. During his tour, he oversaw the safe execution of two visits by the President of the United States, CVN 78’s Commissioning Ceremony, Naval Air Forces Atlantic Phase I-IV inspections resulting in a 92.6% score, the highest on the waterfront, resulting in the ship being awarded the “Black S” for Security department excellence: CVN 78’s first ever departmental award.  He earned his Surface and Air Warfare qualifications and is a graduate of Senior Enlisted Academy class 225, “Red Dragons.”  He was selected to design and draft the Navy Security Force Qualification program for U.S. Fleet Forces which is now a program of record and the definition of “fully qualified” for Master-at-Arms.    
 
MAC Gregory transferred in December 2019 to Harbor Security, Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, and was promoted to Senior Chief in September 2020.  He was selected to sun-up Navy Region Mid-Atlantic’s Harbor Patrol Unit program where he oversaw manning, training and equipping of Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Harbor Patrol units 240 Sailors and 27 patrol boats across seven installations.    
 
Senior Chief Gregory transferred to USS Bataan (LHD 5) in October 2022 as the Security Dept LCPO and deployed to the 5th and 6th Fleet in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Prospect Guardian and Bataan was awarded the Battle “E,” Navy Unit Commendation, Combat Action Ribbon and Navy Expeditionary Medal.  He was Merit Screened to Master Chief in May 2024 and served as Command Senior Enlisted Leader for a total of 10 months in the incumbent’s absence.
 
MACM served briefly onboard USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77) as the Security Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and was selected into the Command Master Chief program in March 2025 and is currently assigned as Command Master Chief, Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Four.
