Lt. Cmdr. Mike Duffy
LCDR Duffy is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. He attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee on a NROTC scholarship. He graduated from Vanderbilt in 2009 with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and was commissioned in May 2009. Upon accession into the Ocean Facilities Program, LCDR Duffy completed the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center's Marine Engineer Diving Officer course and attended Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. He graduated from Florida Atlantic with a Master of Science in Ocean Engineering and Minor in Business Administration.
LCDR Duffy has served with the Naval Construction Force as a member of NMCB FOUR. He deployed with NMCB FOUR to Afghanistan in 2012 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, where he served as Assistant Training Officer, Future Operations Officer, and Detail Officer in Charge for three details in Regional Commands South and Southwest, Afghanistan. Throughout NMCB FOUR’s homeport, he served as Platoon Commander, Detail Officer in Charge of Twentynine Palms, CA, and Assistant Operations Officer.
LCDR Duffy has served with NAVFAC as a part of NAVFAC ROICC Camp Pendleton, where he served as Assistant Resident Officer in Charge of Construction and Safety Officer. He oversaw six projects, including repair and construction supporting the MV-22 program and projects directly supporting Marine Corps Air Station, Camp Pendleton. He served with NAVFAC EXWC as the Navy’s Dam Safety Officer, the DLA Waterfront Facilities Inspection Program Manager, and Alternate Diving Coordinator, managing worldwide waterfront inspections and assessments for the Navy and DLA. He served with Public Works Department Diego Garcia as the Facilities Management Division Director. He most recently served with Public Works Department Key West as the Public Works Officer.
In June 2022, LCDR Duffy assumed command of Underwater Construction Team ONE.
LCDR Duffy is qualified as a Seabee Combat Warfare Officer and Diving Officer. He is a Professional Engineer accredited by the State of California and a member of the Society of American Military Engineers. He has been awarded four Navy Commendation Medals and the Navy Achievement Medal.
