Command Master Chief M. Shawn Hinderberger


Master Chief Hinderberger reported to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 14 in October 2020, where is currently serves as the Command Master Chief.
 
He is from Bossier City, LA and is a graduate of Bossier Parish Community College where he earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice.
 
 Master Chief enlisted in the Navy Reserves in 1993 and completed Recruit Training in Orlando, FL. He was assigned to NMCB 28 as a Builder. In 2003, he mobilized with NMCB 28 and deployed to Guam where he served as the Project Crew Leader for BEQ-133 NCTAMS Barracks Renovation.
 
He mobilized in 2007 with NMCB 28 and deployed to Al Asad, Iraq, where he served as Project Supervisor for the construction of COP Timberwolf. Additionally, he served as the Bravo Company Camp Maintenance Chief. He was selected for
Chief Petty Officer while on deployment and completed Chief’s Initiation.
 
After returning from the Iraq deployment, he transferred to 25th Naval Construction Regiment in Gulfport, MS where he served as the NORTHCOM Action Chief. In 2009, he transferred back to NMCB 28 where he served as the S7C in preparation for deployment. In 2010, he deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba where he served as the DET GTMO OIC. He then completed a follow-on mission onboard the USNS Comfort in support of Continuing Promise 2010 as the AOIC for 25-person detachment. Master Chief Hinderberger returned to NMCB 28, which he served as the Battalion Operations Chief until 2012.
 
In 2013, Master Chief Hinderberger transferred to NMCB 22. In 2014 he served as the Battalion Operations Chief until 2016 when he deployed with NMCB 11/22 as the Det HOA Operations Chief. Upon return from deployment, he transferred to NMCB 18 where he served as the Charlie Company Chief until his transfer to NMCB 14. He was selected to CMDCM in 2021.
 
His personal awards include Navy Commendation Medal (2), Air Force Commendation Medal, and Navy Achievement Medal (5), and he is both SCW and EXW qualified. Master Chief Hinderberger is a Lieutenant with the Shreveport Police Department and is currently serves as the Executive Officer for Patrol.
