Welcome to Naval Construction Group (NCG) 1! We are located onboard Naval Base (NB) Ventura County in Port Hueneme, California. 

NBVC provides airfield, seaport and base support services to fleet operating forces and shore activities, offering a unique combination of mission capabilities to the Navy and the Department of Defense. NBVC and its tenants directly employ more than 19,000 military and civilian personnel and is the largest employer in Ventura County.

Located near Ventura on the California Coast, the area enjoys mild year-around temperatures. The climate is mild during summer when temperatures tend to be in the 60's and cool during winter when temperatures tend to be in the 50's. The warmest month of the year is August with an average maximum temperature of 73, while the coldest month of the year is December with an average minimum temperature of 45.

If you are reporting to the NCG 1, you will be assigned a sponsor who can answer many of the specific questions you may have about the command and the surrounding area. You will also receive a welcome aboard package containing information about the command, the base, and the local area, as well as a Welcome Aboard email with links to a variety of websites that can help you during your transition. We hope the information here gives you a place to start.

Traveling to Port Hueneme from the Route 101 either North or South, exit at Victoria Ave and proceed south. Follow Victoria Ave about 6 miles to Channel Islands Blvd. Turn left on Channel Islands Blvd, and follow to Ventura Rd. Turn right on Ventura Rd and the first entrance to the base is at Sunkist St. Sunkist Gate is open 24 hours.
