Command Master Chief Scott Johnson
Command Master Chief Johnson is a native of Auburn, Indiana, and enlisted in the United States Navy Reserve, Jan. 16, 2002, as a part of the buildup due to the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001. He reported to Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, in July 2002 and began his career as a CE2 through the APG program.
He has served in a myriad of assignments, first with NMCB 26 as a detachment OIC, Communications Shop LPO and Department Head, Operations Department LPO, and a Charlie Company Chief along with a Det Site Chief on an Afghanistan deployment in 2010-2011.
His next tour seen him assigned to NMCB-25 after the decommissioning of NMCB-26 where he served as future operations Chief state side as the battalion was deployed. When they had returned, he continued as the current operations Chief and then moved on to be the training Chief ending this tour in 2017 to become the Operations Chief at 1 NCR.
At 1 NCR the highlight of the two-year tour was being the operations Chief during the HADR portion of RIMPAC 2018. It was the first time a Seabee regiment had been put into that position and the unit had shown the world how the Seabee’s capabilities of command and control in a contingency environment working with different nationalities and services make us an invaluable service to the Navy and to our country.
His last tour was as the manpower Chief and detachment OIC with NMCB 25 supporting the command as they again came back from back to back air detachment deployments.
His deployments include time with NMCB-26 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2007 and in 2010.
CMDCM has completed a tour with NMCB-27 and NCB-22 taking them through FTX and then on to their two deployments and is now on board as the CMC of the 7th Regiment.
