Lt. Cmdr. Michael B. Eberhart
Lt. Cmdr. Michael Eberhart is a native of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania. He graduated in 2009 from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He received his commission through the Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps program and reported to Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, FL as a Student Naval Aviator in June 2009. After deciding that this was not the right fit for him, he transferred to the Civil Engineer Corps.
His first NAVFAC tour was PWD Fallon from May 2011 through April 2014, serving as both a construction manager and as the Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division (FEAD) Director. His next NAVFAC tour was at PWD Portsmouth providing facilities support to Norfolk Naval Shipyard. At PWD Portsmouth, Eberhart served as an assistant public works officer from June 2019 through June 2021 and then as the FEAD Director until May 2022.
His first expeditionary tour was with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 1 from May 2014 through April 2016. During this tour he completed deployments to Okinawa, Japan; Rota, Spain; and Garoua and Douala, Cameroon and served as both a company commander and Detail OIC. His next Seabee tour was with Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit 202 where he served as the Executive Officer from June 2016 to June 2018.
Eberhart served as the Naval Construction Group 2 Operations Officer (N3) from May 2022 through May 2023.
He returned to NMCB 1 in June 2023 and is currently serving as the Executive Officer.
Lt. Cmdr. Eberhart is a qualified Seabee Combat Warfare Officer, registered Professional Engineer in the state of Nevada, is DAWIA certified level two in contracting, and has his Public Works Level three qualification. He received his Master of Engineering Management from Old Dominion University. His personal awards include four Navy Commendation Medals and one Navy Achievement Medal
