         Master Chief Erwin J. Hoffman


Master Chief (SCW/EXW) Hoffmann is a native of Roseboom, NY.  He graduated from Cherry Valley Area High School in June 1995.  After graduating, he reported to RTC Great Lakes, IL, in July 1997.  Upon completion of Recruit Training, he attended Builder “A” School at NCTC, Gulfport, MS, and transferred to NMCB 133. 
 
During his tour of duty with NMCB 133, his deployments were to Bosnia, Spain, Guam, DFT to Tunisia Africa, respectively.  He advanced to BU2 and received his Seabee Combat Warfare qualification and transferred in August 2001. 
 
BU2 then reported to Navy Cargo Handling Battalion One at Williamsburg, VA.    He was assigned as the builder shop lead. He then deployed Kuwait with the battalion in direct support of OIF and OEF. He completed two years at this shore duty then requested to go back to a battalion.
 
He transferred to NMCB 74 in February 2004 and served as a project supervisor with deployments to Seychelles Africa, Afghanistan and Iraq in support of OIF and OEF. During his three years at NMCB 74 BU2 Hoffmann advanced to BU1 and BUC.
 
BUC Hoffmann reported to NMCB 14 in March of 2007, he served as the Battalion Operation’s Chief. He assisted the battalion with the readiness program and supervised their daily construction Operations.
 
BUC reported to NMCB 133 in January of 2010 and deployed to Okinawa Japan, where he was assigned as the Echo 3. During this deployment he also deployed as the AOIC for Pacific Partnership 2011. He deployed to Vanuatu and Pompeii for the Pacific Partnership mission. He then became the Battalions Quality Control Chief and completed a deployment to Afghanistan.  BUC was selected for BUCS at the completion of his tour with NMCB 133.
 
CUCS checked into Naval Construction Group TWO in August 20, 2013. He worked in the N7 department as the Field Exercise AOIC. He was responsible for the training of 11 Naval Mobile Construction Battalions and all tenant commands.
 
CUCS Hoffmann then was stationed at Diego Garcia as the Senior Enlisted Leader from Aug 2016-2017
 
CUCS Hoffmann then reported to NMCB 1 from Aug 2017- August 2020. He served as the S7C, Det HOA SEL and the S3C. CUCS Hoffmann promoted to CUCM at NMCB 1 and received orders to Naval Construction Group TWO.
 
CBCM was serving as the MOC LCPO at Naval Construction Group TWO until August of 2020. He was selected as CMDCM. He is currently the Command Master Chief for NMCB 1.
 
Master Chief Hoffmann is a designated Seabee Combat Warfare and Expeditionary Warfare Specialist.  His awards include Navy Commendation Medal (5 awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (4 awards), Navy Good Conduct Medal (4 awards), Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal (1 awards), National Defense Service Medal (1 award), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Navy Expert Rifle Medal, Navy Expert Pistol Medal, and various personal awards.
