Cmdr. Craig L. Culbertson
Commander Culbertson is a native of Springfield, Missouri and graduated from Drury University in May of 2008 with a Bachelors of Architecture. Following graduation, he attended Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI, receiving his commission as an Ensign into the Civil Engineer Corps in September 2008.
Culbertson’s operational tours include two deployments with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) SEVEN. He served as Assistant Delta Company Commander in Ramadi, Iraq; Bravo Company Commander in Helmand Province, Afghanistan; and Officer-in-Charge of the Water Well Detachment in Djibouti and Ethiopia. He reported to NMCB THREE as the Executive Officer in June of 2022.
His shore tours include Construction Manager and Seabee Self-Help Division Officer, Naval Air Station Patuxent River; Assistant Public Works Officer, Navy Support Facility Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territories; Intern Architect Development Program, Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Atlantic; Aide-to-the-Commander of NAVFAC Atlantic; Base Operating Support (BOS) Program Manager, NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic; Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division Director, Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort; and Aide-de-Camp to the Commandant of the Marine Corps, Headquarters U.S. Marine Corps.
Commander Culbertson holds an MBA from the University of Florida, is a Seabee Combat Warfare Qualified Officer, Registered Architect, and Certified Energy Manager. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (4 Awards), Navy Achievement Medal (2 Awards), and various other unit and campaign awards.
