CDR Travis D. Brinkman


Cmdr. Brinkman is a native of Bloomington, MN. He graduated Suma Cum Laude from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 2003. He holds a Master of Urban Planning Degree from Texas A&M University and a Master Certificate in Cyber Security from the Naval Postgraduate School. In 2004 he received his commision via Officer Candidate School.

His previous Navy tours include: Engineering Officer and Detail Atsugi Officer in Charge, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) ONE; Naval Construction Force and Navy Expeditionary Logistics Support Group Requirements Officer, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC); Aide to the Commander, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Atlantic; Assistant Resident Officer in Charge of Construction, ROICC Northern Italy; Training Officer and PACOM Officer in Charge, NMCB ONE; Public Works Officer, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar; CEC LCDR Detailer, Navy Personnel Command and Current Operations Officer, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Pacific.

Brinkman’s reported to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion THREE as the Commanding Officer in June of 2023.

Cmdr. Brinkman is a Seabee Combat Warfare qualified officer and a registered professional engineer in North Carolina. He is also a member of the Acquisition Professional Community, DAWIA Level III certified in contracting, and Public Works Department Level III qualified. He has had the honor of serving with units which have earned the Navy Unit Commendation (two awards), Meritorious Unit Commendation (three awards), and the Navy Battle Effectiveness Award. His personal awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards) and Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards).
