Mr. Eduard Gonzalez
Mr. Eduard Gonzalez assumed duties as Executive Director at Navy Expeditionary Warfighting Development Center June 2015. He serves as the senior civilian and principle executive assistant to the Commanding Officer in coordinating the activities of the command, which provide expeditionary-centric advanced training; advanced Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) / concepts development; and conduct warfighting effectiveness assessments. Prior to the current assignment, Mr. Gonzalez served as Staff Director/ Business Manager of 1st Naval Construction Division.
Mr. Gonzalez served in the United State Navy Civil Engineer Corps for 27 years, retiring at the rank of Captain. Following his Naval service, he worked for a full service architectural and engineering firm, serving as the Mid-Atlantic Region Aerospace and Defense Program Leader. Mr. Gonzalez was engaged in strategic and business planning; policy development; regional marketing and business development; and the direction of a multi-disciplined architect and engineer workforce.
During Mr. Gonzalez’ 27 years of Naval service, he served at every echelon within the Naval Construction Force: Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Seven; Commander, Naval Construction Battalions Atlantic; Second Naval Construction Brigade; Commanding Officer of Naval Construction Training Center, Port Hueneme; Executive Director for the Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering; Chief of Staff at the Thirty-First Seabee Readiness Group; and the First Naval Construction Division. Mr. Gonzalez completed numerous facilities tours serving as Assistant Resident Officer in Charge of Construction at Naval Submarine Base, New London, Connecticut; Public Works Officer, Naval Air Facility El Centro, California; Deputy Resident Officer in Charge of Construction, Rota, Spain; OPNAV/Naval Facilities Engineering Washington, DC Command Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Program Manager; and Operations Officer Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southern Division, Charleston.
Mr. Gonzalez’ education includes a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University and a Master’s of Engineering (Construction Management) degree from the University of Florida. Mr. Gonzalez is a graduate of the Executive Program at the Darden School, University of Virginia. He also completed the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School Navy Senior Leader Seminar and Strategic Communications Workshop. Mr. Gonzalez is a registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
