 LCDR Corrine A. Sims


Lieutenant Commander Sims was born and raised in Hamburg, New York. She enlisted in the Navy after high school in 1999. In 2010, she received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Old Dominion University and commissioned into the Civil Engineer Corps through Seaman to Admiral – 21. She also holds a Master of Business Administration from the College of William and Mary.

LCDR Sims’ operational tours include USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75); USS Ashland (LSD 48); Platoon Commander and Embark Officer, Amphibious Construction Battalion Two (PHIBCB2); Team Engineer, Provincial Reconstruction Team - Ghazni, Afghanistan; and Training Officer, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion ONE.

Her shore assignments include Further Fleet Transfer Division Leading Petty Officer, Transient Personnel Unit Norfolk, VA; Construction Manager, Facilities, Acquisition and Engineering Division, Public Works Department Norfolk, VA; Ship Support Officer/Waterfront Assistant Public Works Officer, Public Works Department Norfolk, VA; Current Operations and Contingency Engineer, Naval Facilities Command Atlantic; and Plans and Readiness Officer, Naval Construction Group TWO, LCDR Sims assumed command of CBMU 303 in Sa Diego, Ca on 24 June 2022.

LCDR Sims is a registered Professional Engineer (Civil/Construction) in the state of Arizona and is qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warrior and Seabee Combat Warfare Officer. She is Public Works Level II and Level II Contracting certified. She has also completed Naval War College, Joint Professional Military Education level ONE. Her personal decorations include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Army Commendation Medal (2 awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards) among other personal, service, and unit awards.
