Master Chief Clifton K. Setty


Master Chief Setty is a Fresno, California native who holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Organizational Management from University of La Verne. He enlisted in the Navy in August 1999 and attended Basic Training at Recruit Training Center (RTC), Great Lakes, IL followed by Construction Mechanic “A” School. He then reported to his first duty assignment onboard Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) Five in Port Hueneme, CA where he completed deployments to Roosevelt Roads Puerto Rico, Okinawa Japan, Guantanamo Cuba and Fuji Japan. Upon Completion of his first sea tour he reported to 31st Seabee Readiness Group Port Hueneme, CA in September 2004 were he was assigned to R46 maintenance department and was assigned as an Equipment Inspector and Work Center Supervisor for 443 units of Civil Engineer Support Equipment (CESE). After completing his tour at the 31st Seabee Readiness Group he completed CMC1 Advanced School with follow on orders to NMCB 40 Port Hueneme, CA and deployed to Kuwait, Okinawa, and Afghanistan. His responsibilities while assigned to NMCB 40 were Heavy Shop Supervisor, Work Center Supervisor, Embark Leading Petty Officer and Convey Security Commander. During this tour CM1 Setty advanced to Chief Petty Officer in 2010. After his Battalion tour with NMCB 40, CMC Setty reported to EXWC Port Hueneme, CA where worked as the Maintenance Chief for NCTC equipment maintenance support from April 2011 to April 2014. CMC Setty reported to NMCB 3 in May 2014 and deployed to Okinawa and San Clemente Island during his tour. His duties while assigned to NMCB 3 were Alfa Company Maintenance Chief (A4), Alfa Company Chief (A5), Air Det Company Chief and San Clemente Island Assistance Officer in Charge (AOIC). Additionally during his tour with NMCB 3 CMC was selected to Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2015. In Nov 2017, Senior Chief reported to Naval Construction Training Center (NCTC) Port Hueneme, CA. His duties while assigned to NCTC were Alfa Company Commander. In 2018, was selected to Master Chief. In July 2019, Master Chief reported to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Five, Port Hueneme, CA. His duties while assigned to NMCB 5 was Alfa Company Chief. In December 2022 Master Chief reported to Naval Civil Engineer Corps Officer School and is serving as a Course Director and Instructor in the N72 Division. In July2024 Master Chief reported to Naval Construction Training Center as the Command Master Chief. In August 18th 2025 Command Master Chief Reported to NMCB 3 and assumed the duties as the Command Master Chief for NMCB3.


Master Chief Setty is Seabee Combat Warfare (SCW), Expeditionary Warfare (EXW) and Master Training Specialist qualified. Among his personal decorations are the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (7), Army Commendation Medal (1), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3) and various other campaign and service awards
