Lt. Cmdr. Christopher S. Walton




Lt. Cmdr. Christopher Walton is a native of Pulaski, NY. He enlisted in the United States Navy in July 1997. After completing boot camp, he reported to Naval Construction Training Center, Gulfport, MS for Builder “A” School. He commissioned March 1, 2011 through the Limited Duty Officer Program, and holds a Civil Engineering Degree from Old Dominion University and an Executive Master of Business Administration from Naval Post Graduate School, Monterey, CA.

His first tour was with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion SEVEN FOUR (NMCB 74) deployed to Okinawa, Japan. During this assignment he made additional deployments to Yokosuka and Mount Fuji, Japan; Andros Island, Bahamas; Puerto Rico and Great Inagua, Bahamas.

His second tour was with Naval Special Warfare Development Group as Builder Shop Supervisor and Facilities Leading Petty Officer. Following this tour, he transferred to Amphibious Construction Battalion TWO where he was Charlie Company Operations Chief and Elevated Causeway Operations Chief which led to his promotion to Chief Petty Officer. Transferring back to NMCB 74 where he deployed to Afghanistan and Rota, Spain with jobs concentrating in the Operations and Training Departments.

Upon commissioning, he attended Limited Duty Officer School in Newport, RI and Civil Engineer Corps Officer School in Port Hueneme, CA before reporting to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FOUR (NMCB 4) where he made two deployments to Afghanistan, the first dealing with Construction Contracts and second as Detachment Officer in Charge for a Special Operations Task Force. While in homeport he was assigned as the Assistant Training Officer.

Following NMCB 4 he was a Course Director and Instructor at Civil Engineering Corps Officer School supporting the training of CEC Officers and Naval Construction Force Senior Enlisted. He then served with Explosive Ordnance Disposal Expeditionary Support Unit TWO, Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek as the Transportation Officer, followed by a tour at Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit 202, initially as the Training Officer, then as the Operations Officer. Following this tour, he reported to Naval Construction Group ONE as the Table of Allowance Manager for the Pacific Fleet SEABEES.

He took command of Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit 202 in July 2023. Walton is qualified as a Seabee Combat Warfare Officer. His decorations include the Meritorious
Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal (3 awards), the Navy Commendation Medal (6 awards), the Navy Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Good Conduct Medal (5 awards), the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal (with 4 stars), the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the NATO Medal, the Navy Expert Rifle Medal, among other various unit and campaign awards.
