Lt. Cmdr. Marisa Wright
Lieutenant Commander Marisa Wright is a native of Arizona. She graduated from The University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 2002 and obtained a Master of Business Administration from The University of Arizona Global College in 2021. She is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Arizona.
LCDR Wright was commissioned an ensign in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps on October 1, 2012. She was assigned to NMCB 17 from October 2012 to Decommissioning in October 2014 where she served as the Assistant Training Officer, OIC for DET Colorado Springs and Decommissioning Ceremony Officer.
In November 2014, LCDR Wright was assigned to NMCB 22 where she served as the Assistant Alfa Company Commander. In January 2016 she was reassigned to NMCB 18, as Assistant Bravo Company Commander. LCDR Wright deployed as an NMCB 11 detachment from May 2016 to March 2017 to Niger Africa in support of SOCAF. Upon her return to NMCB 18, she served as Charlie Company Commander from October 2017 to October 2018. In October 2018, LCDR Wright was selected to participate in the Engineer Professional Exchange Program (EPEP) with the Army, where she spent a year in the Engineering Department at the 372nd Engineering Brigade and a year as part of a FEST-A. In October 2020, LCDR Wright returned to NMCB 18 to serve as the Assistant Operations Officer. LCDR Wright was then assigned to USSOUTHCOM as a Theatre Contingency Engineering Management Officer from January 2022 to March 2024. Additionally, LCDR Wright served ADOS orders from April 2024 to Novomber 2024 at CSL Comalapa in El Salvador as the Executive Officer and public works director. She is currently serving as the Executive Officer at Naval Construction Battalion 25.
LCDR Wright is Seabee Combat Warfare and Joint Professional Military Education Phase 1 Qualified. Her decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (2), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit commendation and service medals.
