Lt. Cmdr. Stephen E. Woodham


Lieutenant Commander Woodham is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering. He was commissioned as an officer in the Navy Reserve via Direct Commission in 2011. 

LCDR Woodham was assigned to U.S. Naval Construction Battalion TWO FOUR in Huntsville, AL. He served as Engineering Projects Officer, overseeing construction projects, and served as Detachment Officer-In-Charge of Bessemer, ensuring readiness of 65 Seabees.  In 2013, he reported to U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FOURTEEN, serving as Assistant Operations Officer and Alpha Company Commander. In 2014 he deployed as part of the Global War on Terror with NMCB FOURTEEN in support of the Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa. He served as Assistant Officer-In-Charge, Operations Officer, and Alpha Company Commander of the 89 person Detachment. From 2018 to 2021 he served as Current Operations Officer, FIRST Naval Construction Regiment, overseeing execution of Regimental operations and subordinate battalion deployments.

He served as Engineering Plans Officer, INDOPACOM J445, overseeing execution of Environmental Security projects in South Asia. Executed projects included an Oil Spill Response Workshops for Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Timor-Leste, a National Response Plan for Maldives, and INDOPACIFIC Environmental Security Forums in the Maldives and Sri Lanka, including serving as the Master of Ceremonies.

LCDR Woodham currently serves as the Executive Officer for Naval Construction Battalion FOURTEEN overseeing the mission readiness of 570 reserve Seabees. 

LCDR Woodham is a Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, is a certified Project Management Professional, and is qualified JPME Level 1. He is also a qualified Seabee Combat Warfare Officer. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various service medals.

As a civilian, LCDR Woodham is employed as a Principal Engineer and Geotechnical Team Lead for Thompson Engineering, focusing on Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing. His civilian work has focused on geotechnical engineering for energy, industrial, and transportation clients and project management for small and large multi-discipline projects
