Cmdr. Daniel L. Scheer
Commander Scheer received his commission in the United States Navy Reserve as a Direct Commission Officer on February 10, 2004 and entered military service in the Civil Engineer Corps. He is a native of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and received his Bachelors (2002) and Masters (2005) Degrees in Civil Engineering from the Florida State University. He is a Joint Qualified Officer and has completed Joint Professional Military Education Phase 1.
Within the Naval Construction Force (Seabees), his assignments included tours with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion-FOURTEEN (CO, S3A, A6), Naval Mobile Construction Battalion-SEVENTEEN (A6), Naval Mobile Construction Battalion-TWO-FIVE (S3), THIRD Naval Construction Regiment (R6) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, FIRST Naval Construction Division (LNO), and Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force – Afghanistan (CJSOTF-A) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Scheer also completed staff tours with Joint Chiefs of Staff (J7), NAVCENT, and Commander Navy Forces Korea (CNFK) as a staff engineer.
Scheer joined Naval Construction Battalion FOURTEEN as Commanding Officer in March of 2024. He is responsible for the empoloyment and welfare of 570 Reserve and 14 Active Duty Seabees. In his civilian profession, he is a Program Manager with HALFF Engineers – specializing in team integration and project coordination. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida and is an active member in ASCE, NSPE and the Florida Engineering Society.
Scheer’s decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6), Joint Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Iraqi and Afghanistan Campain Medals, and various other unit and campaign awards. He is a Seabee Combat Warfare and Fleet Marine Force Qualified Officer.
