Senior Chief Alfonso Guerrero
Boatswain’s Mate Senior Chief (EXW/SW/AW) Alfonso Guerrero, native of East Los Angeles, California, arrived at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, in 2003.
He earned an Associate’s degree in Real Estate from West Los Angeles College in 2010, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Public Safety and Emergency Management from Grand Canyon University in 2014. In 2023, he completed a Master’s in Business Law at Regent University. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctoral Certificate in Strategic Leadership from Liberty University.
His duty stations include USS Gary (FFG 51), Naval Special Clearance Team 1, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 1, Naval Recruiting District Los Angeles, USS Nimitz (CVN 68), USS Stennis (CVN 74) and USS Tortuga (LSD 46). Deployments include supporting Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve in the 5th and 7th Fleet AOR. Guerrero served as the Acting Command Master Chief/Senior Enlisted Leader for USS Tortuga (LSD 46).
His awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (2), Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal. His Navy Enlisted Certifications (NEC) include: Expeditionary Combat Skills (804G), Safety Technician (825A), Command Fitness Leader (CFL) and Navy Instructor (805A).
