Navy Expeditionary Warfighting Development Center

NEXWDC is part of the Navy-wide network of warfighting development centers (WDC) established to enhance fleet high-end warfighting capabilities and readiness across operations and tactical levels of war. 

NEXWDC's mission is to train and support all NECC forces in threat doctrine and tactics, techniques, and procedures at the advanced level.

NEXWDC develops, validates, standardizes, publishes, and revises expeditionary, construction, irregular warfare, and anti-terrorism/force (AT/FP) protection doctrine and tactics.

  • provides operational and subject matter expertise support to Navy Component Commanders and Navy Fleet Commanders
  • supports warfighting effectiveness assessments focused at the fleet level to identify and mitigate doctrine, organization, training, material, leadership, education, personnel, facilities, policy gaps, and supports solution development
  • focuses on expeditionary community advanced tactical training and AT/FP tactics development
  • supports other WDCs in the development, validation, and standardization of AT/FP
  • facilitates incorporation of Navy and join doctrine into expeditionary training and education
  • ensures advanced cross-domain tactics are aligned and integrated across warfare areas

NEXWDC champions the rapid generation and development of game-changing innovations in concepts, training, and doctrine.

  • conducts advanced-level/integrated training and assessment with the primary objective of training the Navy Expeditionary Combat Forces to fight as an integrated force across the high-end fight
  • develops and maintains expeditionary, construction, irregular warfare, and AT/FP doctrine and concept of operations
