PACIFIC OCEAN - PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 13, 2020) Sailors assigned to Coastal Riverine Squadron (CRS) 3 and the expeditionary mine countermeasure company of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 5 retrieve a Mark 18 Mod 2 unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) during a transit through the Northern Mariana Islands. EODMU-5 and CRS-3 operate together onboard a Mark VI patrol boat to transport, launch and retrieve the UUV for underwater survey collections in support of Navy Expeditionary Forces Command Pacific-Task Force 75. CTF 75 is the primary expeditionary task force responsible for the planning and execution of coastal riverine operations, explosive ordnance disposal, diving engineering and construction, and underwater construction in the U.S. 7th fleet area of operations.
