Command Master Chief James Brock


 

Command Master Chief James Brock attended Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois in September 1996.  After “Boot Camp,” he attended Equipment Operator “A” School at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and graduated in November 1996.
 
Upon graduation he transferred to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 7.  While with NMCB 7 he completed two deployments to Okinawa, Japan and two deployments to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.  He also went to Honduras in support of relief efforts after Hurricane Mitch.
 
Upon transfer from NMCB 7, he was stationed at the “The Presidential Retreat” at Camp David, where he was selected as the Senior “Sailor of the Year” for 2004.
 
He then transferred to NMCB-1 the “First and the Finest” on September 15, 2005, where he served as the horizontal construction supervisor and platoon commander.  While attached to NMCB 1 he was selected for Chief Petty Officer.  After the pinning ceremony he was cross decked to NMCB-133 where he served as water well officer in charge (OIC) and OIC for Pacific Partnership 2008. 
 
After NMCB-133 he went to the 20th Seabee Readiness Group (SRG) where he served as the A3 for R436 and FTX/FEP evaluator.  While attached to the 20th SRG he was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer.
 
After 20th SRG he went back to NMCB-133 where he deployed to Kuwait as a senior enlisted leader (SEL) and then to Rota, Spain.  While in Rota he served as the operations chief for the Battalion.
 
After NMCB-133 he went to Naval Construction Group 2, where he served as the N43C and was promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer.  Next he went to NMCB-1 where he served as the SEL for DET Guam. After NMCB-1 he went to 22 Naval Construction Regiment where he served as the operations chief.
 
After 22 Naval Construction Regiment he went to NMCB-1 as the Command Master Chief.  Where he made two deployments to Rota Spain supporting operations around the world during the COVID Pandemic.
 
His awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (Fifth Award), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal with Three Gold Stars, Joint Meritorious Unit Ribbon, Navy Good Conduct Medal Two Stars, and National Defense Service Medal with One Bronze Star, Humanitarian Service Medal Two Bronze Stars, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon Eight Awards, Navy Expert Rifle Medal, and Navy Expert Pistol. He is qualified as a Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist.
